TG74 - New Production and Business Models in Construction: Introducing a New Joint Coordinator Prof.Dr. Jack Goulding
The CIB Programme Committee has appointed Prof, Dr. Jack Goulding, University of Central Lancashire, United Kingdom as a new Joint Coordinator of CIB TG74. He is professor of Construction Project Management at the School of Built and Natural Environment.

Sustainable Community - buildingSMART(TM) was chosen as the theme. The community scale is seen as being crucial to the achievement of sustainability, whereas Building Information Modelling (BIM) is fundamental as a means to implementing sustainability in life cycle processes in the built environment.
W062 - Water Supply and Drainage for Buildings: 36th International Symposium, Sydney, Australia, 8-10 November 2010
The topics to be discussed will include: environmental considerations, hydraulics of water systems in and around buildings, health aspects related to water systems, durability, new materials and products and management and maintenance of water systems.
W078 - Information Technology for Construction: Applications of IT in the AEC Industry - 2nd Call for Papers, Cairo, Egypt, 16-18 November 2010
Themes for three special conference sessions are: Field applications using advanced information and communication technologies, Virtual design and construction and IFC Models. A special conference workshop on Building Information Modeling (BIM) is being organised.

This international Conference will be combined with the NIOSH (The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) Prevention through Design (PtD) Conference. More information will be available as soon as possible.
W096 - Architectural Management: Architectural Management in the Digital Arena, Vienna, Austria, 13-14 October 2011
The conference will address among others the following issues: smart, lean and intelligent architectural design management, application of collaborative technologies, such as building information modelling (BIM) and integrated (sustainable) design solutions and integrated working practices.
W078 - Information Technology for Construction & W102 - Information and Knowledge Management in Building: 28th International Workshop "Computer Integrated Construction", Sophia Antipolis, France, 26-28 October 2011
The three workshops at the conference are: an IDDS session addressing CIB's latest pro-active theme on Integrated Design & Delivery Solutions, a TG80 session - Legal and Regulatory Aspects of BIM and a special session of the ITC@EDU series on Education in Construction IT.
New Publications
Proceedings from the 8th Conference on Performance-Based Codes and Fire Safety Design Methods
The newest developments concerning performance-based code approaches were presented at the Conference. State-of-the-art engineering design methods were showcased and there were presentations from seven countries where they demonstrated how they would approach a common design problem.

The winning proposal is titled: Web-based Visual Platform for Real-time Communication and Collaboration Among the CIB Student Chapters. Among the objectives are: to connect world-wide CIB Student Chapters and to encourage more information sharing (conferences, seminars etc.)
