TG59 - People in Construction: Four-Year Mandate Extension
TG59 will focus on human resource issues. In addition to conference proceedings there will be publications on best practices in developing countries and an R&D Roadmap. TG59 will involve representatives of employers, governments and researchers in both developed and developing countries.
TG67 - Statutory Adjudication in Construction: Three-Year Mandate Extension and New Joint Coordinator
The Task Group will promote the philosophies underpinning the need for statutory adjudication in construction. An "international review" of statutory adjudication systems will be produced and published. Edward McCluskey (Glasgow Caledonian University) was appointed as new Joint Coordinator.
TG68 - Construction Mediation: Three-Year Mandate Extension
During the second three-year period TG68 will focus on doing an international comparative review of key construction mediation themes. Tasks includes: definition of key themes, comparative international research per theme and publication of the research outcomes in a book.
W119 - Customised Industrial Construction: Introducing a New Working Commission and its Coordinators
Industrialisation in construction will become more customer oriented. Systems for adaptable manufacturing and robot technologies will merge the best aspects of industrialisation and automation with aspects of traditional manufacturing. This commission succeeded the former TG57 on Industrialisation in Construction.

SB10 Conference held in November 2010 in Sao Paulo, Brazil
The SB10 Brazil Conference was the last in a series of 10 regional conferences held in 2010. Two days of conference concerned with issues of sustainability were followed by a series of workshops and seminars dedicated to the use of life-cycle analysis in the Brazilian construction industry.
Priority Themes
Revaluing Construction Workshop Report, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This workshop concerns senior construction stakeholders and was informed by the CIB Priority Theme of Revaluing Construction, but also had its own national context arising from the Malaysian Construction Industry Master Plan and the emergence of a national approach to "green construction".

CUBES Workshop and First Meeting of CIB W118 - Clients and Users in Construction, Copenhagen, Denmark, 13 April 2011
The newly established CIB W118 Working Commission on Clients and Users in Construction (CUC) will meet for the first time in Copenhagen in April, in conjunction with the CUBES (Clients and Users in Built Environment Spaces) workshop that has been jointly organized by the new Commission and other agencies.
SB11 Helsinki World Sustainable Building Conference: International Student Idea & Design Competition SuvelaSURGE
Registrations are invited for the International Student Idea and Design Competition for Sustainable Neighbourhood Regeneration, SuvelaSURGE. The competition is part of the programme of activities associated with SB11 Helsinki in October 2011. All proposals will be displayed during the Conference.
W104 - Open Building Implementation: Open Building - Architecture in the Fourth Dimension, Boston, USA, 15-17 November 2011
Open building appears to be a response to the pressures, conflicts and waste caused by continued rigid adherence to functionalism, in which functions are defined and buildings designed to fit them. These are forcing all parties to reconsider and realign their methods, practices and systems.
W110 - Informal Settlements and Affordable Housing: Architecture in the Fourth Dimension, Boston, USA, 15-17 November 2011
This conference is in conjunction with W104 - Open Building Implementation and with Build Boston 2011. The CIB W110 conference topics are: informal settlements' historical heritage, affordable housing in urban areas and informal settlements sustainability.

W018 - Timber Structures: Proceedings of the 43rd Annual Meeting held in Nelson, New Zealand, August 2010
These proceedings of W018 - Timber Structures include the Minutes and 27 papers. The papers address the following topics: limit state design, stress grading, stresses for solid timber, timber joints and fasteners, timber beams, laminated members, structural stability and fire.
Proceedings of the SB10 Sao Paulo Conference November 2010
The conference supports the transition of sustainable building into practice and the demonstration of advances in subjects as: advanced building design and construction, affordable social housing, sustainable renovation and refurbishment, sustainable urban infrastructure.
W070 - Facilities Management and Maintenance: Proceedings of the Conference FM in the Experience Economy, Sao Paulo, September 2010
The theme of the conference was chosen because the organizing committee strongly believes that Facilities Management research and practice in the current decade will be focused on people's experience in the built environment. The emphasis was on people, life and the environment.
W062 - Water Supply and Drainage: Proceedings of the 36th W062 International Symposium held in Sydney, November 2010
The proceedings cover research in the fields of hot and cold water supply, drainage systems, sanitary appliances, water conservation, corrosion, materials and issues relating to sustainable construction including trends, applications, evaluation and management.
Encouraged Journals
Awards offered to Best Papers
Contributors to two CIB Encouraged Journals, The International Journal of Law in the Built Environment and Structural Survey, will be eligible for an award for the best paper submitted to each journal. The awards will be announced and presented at the COBRA 2011 Conference in Salford in September 2011.
Building Research & Information: Call for Papers for Special Issue - Next Challenges in Energy Building Research
The thesis is that current policy and research environments are insufficient for the task of transforming building stocks and their supporting infrastructures in less than half a century. Papers are sought that will examine aspects of that thesis. Example topics are: research funding and policy frameworks.
Journal of Information Technology in Construction (ITcon): Call for Papers on a Special Issue on Management of Remote Construction Sites and the Role of IT Systems
Topics may include identification of unique problems of remote construction sites and how they can be addressed by employing IT systems and advanced management techniques/ methodologies and fundamentals of the implementation of IT systems to manage remote construction sites.
