TG83 - e-Business in Construction: Introducing a New Task Group
Objectives of TG83 are: to conduct joint research with interested parties, to appraise and promote the use of state of the art web-based technologies for collaboration and e-business in construction and to provide a forum for discussion, debate and evaluation of technologies, research and concepts in the area.

The aim of the workshop is to generate a set of strategic research directions aimed at fundamentally questioning existing culture and process of the building and construction industry and the research community that supports it. New ideas might induce a step-change in industry performance.
W119 - Customised Industrial Construction: Kick-Off Meeting for CIB and IAARC Members, Seoul, Korea, 1 July 2011
The new joint CIB-IAARC Commission W119 addresses improving the performance of the construction industry in the area of industrialized adaptable and affordable housing with just-in-time responses and adaptive production systems. The first meeting will take place as part of ISARC 2011.
2011 Tsinghua Summer School for International Construction, Beijing, China, 4-12 July 2011
The annual Tsinghua Summer School, again co-sponsored by CIB, will take place from 4-12 July 2011 in the Tsinghua University in China. The programme includes academic presentations and visits to sites of interest. The focus will be on the world's best practices on management.

BRI, one of two CIB Recognised Journals, has recently published a Special Issue devoted to Adaptive Comfort. Insights into some of the emerging new thinking about comfort in buildings, and the implications this has for design and for standards that may help designers are revealed.

CIB Sebestyen Future Leaders Award 2011 - Call for Proposals
A Call for Proposals for the CIB Sebestyen Future Leaders Award is being made, inviting CIB Student Chapters to collaborate with the members of a CIB Commission in negotiating an agreed task to be done for that Commission. The Award for the winning proposal will be Euro 2500.
