TG84 - Construction Reform: Introducing a New Task Group and its Coordinators
The aim of the proposed Task Group is to generate research activity around which (and how) influential drivers shape and reinforce construction sector policies regarding reform within different countries and regions. Dr. Scott Fernie, UK, and Dr. Roine Leiringer, Sweden, are the Joint Coordinators.
W078 - Information Technology for Construction: Conference Report on Application of IT in the AEC Industry
The role that a BIM (Building Information Model) plays within our industry was a predominant theme at the conference. Topics included industry foundation classes, virtual design and construction (VDC), ICT in construction eduction and energy analysis tools for buildings.
W080 - Prediction of Service Life of Building Materials and Components: CIB Commission Recognition for Three Valued Members of W080
During a meeting of CIB W080 held in Porto last April, the Working Commission was proud to announce that three of its longest serving members had been recognised by CIB with over two decades of service: Dr. Jean-Luc Chevalier, Prof. Christer Sjostrom and Prof. Per Jostein.
W104 - Open Building Implementation: Introducing a New Coordinator Shin Murakami
The CIB Programme Committee has appointed Prof. Dr. Shin Murakami from the Sugiyama Jogakuen University, Japan as a new Joint Coordinator of W104. Shin is Professor at Sugiyama Jogakuen University, Nagoya City, Japan and Docent of Technology, University of Nagoya, Japan.

Memorandum of Agreement between CIB and the Association of Schools of Construction of Southern Africa (ASOCSA)
Among the indicative collaborative activities are the following: co-ordination of the planning and timing of conferences and inclusion of papers from the proceedings from ASOCSA conferences in the ICONDA CIB library database (as free for all downloadable PDFs).
Memorandum of Understanding between CIB and A+CA
Among the enhanced collaboration between CIB and A+CA the following goals will be addressed: expand international exchange and cooperation in research and collaboration by selectively linking A+CA and CIB activities and establish and share information concerning research and innovation.

CIB's Expanding Regional Coverage
The first two regional offices were established in 2010: the North American Regional Committee and the Latin American Representative Office. At the April 2011 meeting in Beijing the CIB Board established two new CIB Regional Offices that will extend CIB into China and the West and Central Asian region.
2010 Annual CIB Board Report
The 2010 Annual CIB Board Report was presented to the CIB 2011 General Assembly that took place in April in Beijing, China. An overview of the 2010 year, and some of its highlights, was provided by the contributions of the CIB President and the Chairs of the CIB Board Committees.

Collected Outlooks - Latest Additions
The CIB Outlooks service enables users to locate a large number (now 92 and growing) authoritative "Outlook" publications of special relevance to building research and innovation, by using a searchable database maintained by CIB. As the name suggests, "Outlook" publications are 'outwards looking'.

Workshop on Construction Industry Reform at the CIB W055 and W065 Joint Conference, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 20-23 June 2011
Among the objectives of the workshop are: to review some of the major construction industry development initiatives around the world and to explore possible collaborative research on construction industry development at both the regional and global levels.

Among the objectives of the conference are: to provide a forum for multi-disciplinary interaction between academics and practitioners, to provide an internationally recognised, accredited conference for the built environment and to disseminate innovative and cutting edge practices.
CIB Co-Sponsored: 27th Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting: Association Researchers in Construction Management, Bristol, UK, 5-7 September 2011
Among the Conference topics are: research and education, human resources management and culture, planning, productivity and quality, cost and financial management, information management, macro-economic data, sustainability in the built environment and briefing and design management.
W096 - Architectural Management: Architectural Management in the Digital Arena, Vienna, Austria, 13-14 October 2011
Among the issues the conference will address are the following: smart, lean and intelligent architectural design management, application of collaborative technologies, such as building information modelling (BIM) and Integrated (sustainable) design solutions and integrated working practices.
W107 - Construction in Developing Countries: International Conference on Innovation and Sustainable Construction in Developing Countries, Hanoi, Vietnam, 1-3 November 2011
The aim of the Conference is to provide an opportunity for researchers, academics, professionals and government officials to exchange ideas on how the construction industry, through innovation and sustainable practices, can enhance economic growth in developing countries.
