Conference report IFireSS 2015 Coimbra
The Conference Report includes State of the Art statements in the areas of Structural Fire Safety, Concrete, Wood, Fire Chemistry and Smoke Management. The Conference Proceedings can be downloaded for free.
New coordinator of Commission W062
The CIB programme Committee has appointed Professor Dr Lynne Jack as the new Coordinator of Commission W062. ‘I am delighted to accept this role, and look forward to working with CIB and with our very active team of participants.'

W014 - Fire Safety for all Conference, Dublin
In April 2015 the CIB co-sponsored Fire safety for all Conference took place in Dublin. The conference focused on Real Accessibility: effective accessibility for people with activity limitations; an accessibility which works well for all building users. The conference proceedings are now available.

PC Commendation 2015 for Prof Dr Michael Behm
The anual Programme Committee Commendation has been awarded to Prof Dr Michael Behm. He receives the commendation in appreciation of his inspiring leadership as coordinator of W099. Each year the CIB PC awards a person or group of persons who have made a remarkable contribution to CIB.

W098 Workshop intelligent liveable buildings and cities
During the 20th CIB World Building Congress (May 30-June 3, 2016) in Tampere Finland, the CIB Commission W098 will organize a workshop. Included topics are amongst others 'Self-regulating buildings and cities' and 'Adaptive urban design'.
SBE16 Conference Cairo: Integrate People, Process, and Technology
From November 29 to December 1, 2016 the SBE16 Conference Integrate People, Pocess and Technology will be held in Cairo, Egypt. Goal of the conference is to demonstrate the applicability of integration of main aspects of people, process, and technology in the scientific research as well as in the industry.
CREON PhD workshop
On Monday May 30, 2016 - as part of the CIB World Building Congress 2016 in Tampere, Finland - CREON and CIB will host a PhD workshop intended for PhD students in construction management and related fields, and others who have ongoing research they would like to discuss. Registration is free.
42nd International Symposium of CIB W062
From August 29th to September 1st the 42nd International Symposium of CIB W062 Water Supply and Drainage for Buildings will be held in Slovakia. The theme is “Sustainable and water efficient buildings”. There will, among other things, be keynote speeches, panel discussions, and presentations.
Free Consultation webinar Roadmap on Smart Cities
On February 23rd 2016 CIB will host an open consultation webinar on the Research Roadmap Smart Cities, drafted by the CIB Commission TG88. The Roadmap describes the current state of the art and most dominant global challenges on the concept of Smart Cities. Attendance at the webinar is free upon registration.
New Publications
New CIB Publication: Loads and actions on Sandwich Panels
This free CIB Publication provides guidance on the application of loads and actions on sandwich panels. It gives advice within the scope of EN 14509 and on structural sandwich panels, focusing on specific aspects not considered by EN 1990 and EN 1991, amended with some explanatory remarks to EN 14509.
New CIB Publication: Improving Roof Reliability
The report identifies common principles of best practice. These are particularly important for critical buildings such as hospitals, power supplies and data centres. The common principles are offered for the benefit of the building owner, designer, contractor and manufacturer. The report is free downloadable.

BRI invites you to submit an abstract for a special issue on Using Building Information – Big Data, BIM and the Built Environment. The special issue focuses on the social, managerial, and political consequences of using building information across the life cycle of built assets. Submission deadline is March 1, 2016
