CIB KPI's - Key Performance Indicators for the Year 2007 with Comparative Data over the Period 2005-2006
CIB KPI’s - Key Performance Indicators for the year 2007 with comparative data over the period 2005 - 2006 on developments concerning: Membership; Activities including Meetings, Task Groups and Working Commissions and Publications; and Finances.
New Members in the Year 2007
In the year 2007 in total 54 new Members have joined CIB. These include 1 Full Member, 24 Associate Members and 29 Individual Members. The Full Member is from India. Each new member is briefly described. Among the 24 Associate Members 15 are Universities, 4 from the Industry, 2 Research Institutes, 2 National Government Agencies and 2 Information and Documentation Institutes.
CIB Membership Development in 2007
The Annual CIB Membership Development for 2007 is presented in this News article with some comparative data for the period 2005-2007. An analysis is given per region, type of organisation and fee level.
Overview Priority Themes
An overview is given of activities which centre around the following themes: Sustainable Construction; Revaluing Construction; Clients and Users; and Integrated Design Solutions. These themes include activities carried out by CIB Task Groups and Working Commissions, but in essence are more program driven and aim for defined deliverables in a defined period.
New CIB Task Groups and Working Commissions
In 2007 the CIB Programme Committee established four new CIB Task Groups of which three operate in the legal area. Besides this, two former Task Groups were upgraded to form two new CIB Working Commissions, both are active in the area of sustainable construction. These six new groups are briefly described.
Overview CIB Task Groups and Working Commissions
The table shows an overview of CIB's Task Groups and Working Commissions as per the end of 2007. For each commission an indication is given of the extend to which it is expected to contribute to the CIB Priority Themes SC - Sustainable Construction, CU - Clients and Users, RC - Revaluing Construction and IDS - Integrated Design Solutions.
In 2007 CIB - through the CIB Secretariat - participated in three programs funded by the European Commission: INPREST, STAND-INN and Smart-ECO.
CIB Endorsed Student Chapters
This article contains a listing of all CIB Endorsed Student Chapters as per 31 December 2007 and the winner of the Gyula Sebestyén Student Award 2007.
CIB Special Interest Clubs
In 2007 three CIB initiated and facilitated Special Interest Clubs have been active: ICCF - the International Construction Clients Forum (Secretary: Mr. Kim Haugbølle); RMM - the CIB Research Managers' Meeting (Coordinator: Prof.Dr. Matti Kokkala); and the CIB Dean's Clubs (Coordinator: Prof. Martin Betts).
CIB Related Conferences in 2007
2007 was once again a successful year for CIB related events all over the world, many of them of great international recognition and contributing in setting the global agenda in their respective field. A selection of 36 CIB and CIB Co-sponsored Conferences in 2007 are briefly described.
CIB and CIB Related Publications in 2007
Last year was a success for CIB related Publications, mainly due to a growing numbers of proceedings from conferences, including the CIB co-sponsored ones. This article contains summaries of all 24 CIB related publications that have been produced in 2007 and that have been made available to the CIB Secretariat.
CIB PC Commendations 2007
The PC Chair and Secretary General in consultation with the CIB Programme Committee, award the annual PC Commendation for extra ordinary performances in the CIB Programme of Activities for 2007. The Commendations were awarded to Prof.Dr. Stephen Kendall, Mr. Karel de Cuyper and Mr. Kim Haugbølle.
CIB Encouraged Journals
As per 31 December 2006 there were 20 CIB Encouraged Journals. During 2007 the following 3 were added: Structural Survey; Facilities; and Kurzberichte aus der Bauforschung – Building Research Summaries – Recherche du Bartiment, Comptes Rendus.
