TG59 New Commission Coordinator
The CIB Programme Committee extended the mandate of TG59 and appointed Fidelis Emuze, Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Built Environment of the Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa as the new Coordinator of TG59 – People in Construction.

SBE16 Tallinn & Helsinki conference
Build Green and Renovate Deep Conference will be held on 5-7 October 2016. Green is here – in design, construction and maintenance, and also as investments, challenges and opportunities. But what lies behind the buzzword for the construction sector? The SBE16 Conference will find it out by defining the frontline of research and development.
New Publications
Research Roadmap Disasters and the Built Environment
CIB Commission W120 – Disasters and the Built Environment, in collaboration with UNISDR – The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction – published a Research Roadmap focussing on how research can contribute to the planning for, and the design, construction and management of a built environment that has a maximum resilience against disasters. The publication can be downloaded (for free).
Routledge / CIB Book Series
For nearly two decades Routledge has been publishing research output generated trough CIB into its CIB Book Series. The series includes peer reviewed titles that cover everything from construction innovation, investment and procurement, trough to safety, dispute resolution and sustainability. All CIB members are eligible for a 20% discount on all Routledge titles.
Report Construction e-Business in the UK
In July 2016, Construct IT for Business and CIB TG83, e-Business in Construction, jointly published this report on the state of e-business usage in the UK construction industry. The report publishes the results of a UK wide survey of construction organisations analysing the use of e-business related technologies. The Publication is electronically available for free on the CIB website.
Research Roadmap Summary on Clients and Users in Construction
At the CIB WBC - World Building Congress that took place from May 30 until June 3 in Tampere, Finland the W118 Working Commission on Clients and Users in Construction presented an updated Summary Publication of the Roadmap on Clients and Users in Construction. The updated Research Roadmap Summary can be downloaded for free from the Roadmap Section on the CIB Website.
Student Chapters
CIB Sebestyén Future Leaders Award 2016
CIB Student Chapters are invited to submit a proposal for a project for the 2016 CIB Sebestyén Future Leaders Award. Preference will be given to proposals for projects with defined outcomes that will contribute to one or more of CIB's current Priority Themes: Sustainable Construction, Integrated Design and Delivery Solutions and Resilient Urbanization.
WSBE17 International Youth Competition
The Competition invites Imaginative Ideas, Projects and Action Plans that best demonstrate an innovative interpretation of the Conference theme and the key discussion areas like Deep Building, High-performance Building, Community, Sustainable Neighbourhood and many more.
