2016 Programme Committee Commendations
Each year the CIB Programme Committee selects one or a few CIB Commission Coordinators (or Priority Theme Leaders), who receive a Commendation for extra ordinary performances or accomplishments in the previous year. The 2016 CIB PC Commendation has been awarded to the Joint Coordinators of Task Group TG88 - Smart Cities Dr Miimu Airaksinen, VTT, Finland and Christiaan Bremmer, TNO, Netherlands.
CIB CIBSE Intelligent Buildings Group Newsletter
CIB Working Commission W098 – Intelligent and Responsive Buildings – cooperates with the Intelligent Buildings Group of CIBSE – the UK based Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers. The CIBSE-IBG Newsletter is being produced in association with CIB W098 once or twice a year and is now being made available to CIB Members.
W113 New Commission Coordinator
In January 2017 the CIB Programme Committee appointed Dr Andrew Agapiou as Coordinator of the Working Commission W113 - Law and Dispute Resolution. Agapiou is lecturer at the Strathclyde University in Glasgow.

New CIB Secretary General
Per March 1, 2017 Wim Bakens will step down as CIB Secretary General. Until the middle of 2019 he will continue to be employed by CIB as its Senior Programme Advisor. He will focus on working with Commissions and Priority Theme Groups in general and especially on encouraging and supporting the development of the CIB Research Roadmaps and on promoting such roadmaps amongst stakeholders worldwide. Pia Vasco, RIL, Finland will be the temporary new CIB Secretary General, also until the middle of 2019.

International Best Value Conference
This conference is four days of training which is comprised of presentations, training exercises, Q&A sessions, and group collaborations from world-class educators on the process and latest innovations of the Best Value Approach (BVA). This is a joint conference with the CIB Commission W117.
Call for Papers International Research Conference: Shaping Tomorrow's Built Environment
The University of Salford, in partnership with CIB, is organizing the International Research Symposium, on the 11th and 12th September 2017. The event promises a huge gathering of key international players and speakers from industry, academia and the research community, forming an important networking point for all participants. 13 CIB Commissions will participate in the Symposium, including W055 - Construction Industry Economics - and W065 - Organisation and Management of Construction.
World Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2017
The World Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2017 (WSBE17) Hong Kong is co-organised by The Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC). It will be held on 5-7 June 2017. Register now for the 3-day Conference and meeting 1,800 top-notch industry experts from around the world.
CIB Symposium on Resilience to Climate Change and Flooding
In association with the Global Disaster Resilience Centre (GDRC) and the CIB, School of Art Design & Architecture at the University of Huddersfield is delighted to organise a one-day Symposium on Climate Change and Flooding on the 6th of April 2017 at the University of Huddersfield.
